Molded Fiber Glass Companies: Project Hawk FRP composites manufacturing documentary

Copyright 2011 Molded Fiber Glass Companies. This is a 15-minute edited version of an hour-long documentary, created by Media Magic Productions, on MFG’s Project Hawk. This was a year-long, interview-driven high-definition video project, resulting in the creation of a hour-long documentary on the Project Hawk Best Practices program for SMC production and a 15-minute SMC sales video. A four-person camera crew followed the project, in it’s fourth and final year, covering construction and management initiatives at five MFG operations in Ashtabula, Ohio, Linesville, Pennsylvania and Raleigh, North Carolina. More than two dozen interviews with MFG teammates were conducted for the video.

Project Hawk was a four-year initiative by Molded Fiber Glass Companies to reduce variation in their SMC and LCM products. The purpose of Project Hawk was to find and implement the industries’ Best Practices in the manufacturing processes of their SMC and LCM composite products. MFG’s ultimate goal is to become a World Class provider of these composite plastic products and to help provide a technical standard for the composites industry.
