1,five hundred garden tries, open up sights, Black Powder Muzzleloader .451 Parker Hale Whitworth rifle

.451 Parker Hale Whitworth rifle at 1,five hundred yards

Developed: 1854-1857
Producer: Whitworth Rifle Corporation
Created: 1857-1865

I am in the process of coming up with a tailor made bullet for the .451 Whitworth rifle, which will continue to be quite secure/correct further than 1,five hundred yards.

Immediately after five pictures, I did something I have never done in 30+ decades…. I accidentally allow the rifle slide off wherever I experienced it resting and it fell to the concrete, breaking component of the rear sight and the anti-canting system.

I have no doubt that I would have hit the 1,five hundred garden 17-inch goal experienced this not transpired.

I am restoring it and ideally I can get it up and running within the subsequent couple days.

The projectile is a tailor made 490 grain paper-patched & hollow primarily based. I am using 95 grains (by quantity) of Goex Ole English Match Grade Black Powder.
